Generator Testing

Generators are commonly tested after being manufactured, installed onsite or during periodic maintenance checks. The most common test that manufacturers and service groups must do is a high voltage AC dielectric withstand test. The test involves applying an AC voltage to a rotor or a stator winding to verify it can withstand an applied voltage. This not only will confirm the quality of a new generator, but is also a useful test to verify the insulation condition after a generator has already been installed.

Hipotronics offers the largest variety of generator testing equipment on the market. Hipotronics can provide the necessary test equipment to all generator manufacturers, service/maintenance companies and those in the Hydro power industry to test the widest range of generators. Hipotronics can also offer equipment installation assistance, repair, and calibration along with the expertise that has been learned over many years.
