Manufactures of wire & cable must test the insulation strength of their product before shipping it to their customers. This usually includes an AC or DC hipot test at high voltages. When a company manufactures cable with multiple conductors they often times need to hipot every conductor. As you can imagine testing each conductor one at a time can take countless hours or even days depending on how many conductors there are in that one cable. A multi-conductor test system eliminates the need for personnel to test wire & cable one conductor at a time.

These tests can be accomplished in minutes on a production line saving countless hours of labor. With a modern computer used with the system and a multi position switchboard, a technician will be able to see that each conductor has passed or failed as well as knowing which conductor is being tested at that time. The multi-conductor test system can also be provided with self stripping clips which will strip the cable to once again save on setup & test time.
